SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATION

STC Industrial Group is proud to announce that applications are now open for our scholarship program for the 2025/26 school year, offering scholarships to support community members who are advancing their education through post-secondary studies.

 

Eligibility

To be considered for the scholarship, applicants must meet the following criteria:

  1. Enrollment in a Post-Secondary Institution:
    • The applicant must be currently enrolled in a post-secondary institution (technical school, college, or university), or will be attending one in the upcoming fall semester.
    • Applicants must be enrolled full-time during the scholarship period, as defined by their institution.
  2. Field of Study:
    • The applicant must be pursuing or planning to pursue a full-time program in one of the following fields of study:
      • Engineering (e.g., Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Environmental, etc.)
      • Engineering Technology (e.g., Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Construction, etc.)
      • Indigenous Business (e.g., Indigenous entrepreneurship, leadership, governance, etc.)
      • Business Administration (e.g., General Business, Management, Accounting, Marketing, etc.)
      • Project Management
    • Applicants in any other related fields of study that align with STC Industrial Group’s focus on sustainable development, community empowerment, innovation, and industrial sectors are also encouraged to apply.
    • The applicant should be committed to completing a program that aligns with the values and needs of STC Industrial Group.
  3. Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC) Membership:
    • The applicant must be a member of one of the seven Saskatoon Tribal Council (STC) member Nations. These include:
      • Kinistin Saulteaux Nation
      • Mistawasis Nêhiyawak First Nation
      • Muskeg Lake Cree Nation
      • Muskoday First Nation
      • One Arrow First Nation
      • Whitecap Dakota First Nation
      • Yellow Quill First Nation
    • Proof of membership may be required during the application process.

 

Selection Criteria

The recipients will be selected by our Scholarship Selection Committee, which is made up of community and industry members. Each committee member will score the applications based on a standardized scoring rubric, which includes the following four areas:

  1. Application as a Whole: The application must be complete and submitted in accordance with all requested information and requirements.
  2. Essay: The essay should clearly address the provided prompt. It should demonstrate that time and thought were invested in writing it. The personal statement must explain the applicant’s motivation for furthering their education, their career goals, and how they plan to contribute to society after completing their studies.
  3. Career Goal(s): The applicant’s career goals should align with the interests or sectors supported by STC Industrial Group. The applicant should also provide clear and realistic career aspirations, outlining how the scholarship will help them achieve their educational and professional objectives.
  4. Recommendations: The recommendation letters must reflect a strong fit for the scholarship. References should come from educators, employers, or community leaders who can speak to the applicant’s character, work ethic, and potential for success in their academic and career endeavors.

 

Notification and Disbursement

After the scholarship application period closes, we aim to notify all applicants of the decision within one to two months. All applicants will be contacted by email to inform them of whether they were successful.

Successful applicants will be invited to attend an award presentation for photos, which may be used for social media and marketing purposes. The scholarship funds will be disbursed at the beginning of the school year and paid directly to the educational institution.

 

Two $5,000 awards will be awarded each year.
