Welder/Fabricator

KWS Keys Welding Service Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a Welder/Fabricator located at our facility in the North Corman Industrial Park.

Responsibilities:
• Read and interpret blueprints or welding process specifications.
• Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes such as gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), flux-cored arc welding (FCAW), plasma arc welding (PAW), shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), oxy-acetylene welding (OAW), resistance welding and submerged arc welding (SAW)
• Operate manual or semi-automatic flame-cutting equipment.
• Operate brazing and soldering equipment.
• Operate metal shaping machines such as brakes, shears and other metal straightening and bending machines.
• Repair worn parts of metal products by welding on extra layers.
• Maintain equipment in a condition that does not compromise safety.
• Report any and all unsafe conditions to site supervisor and safety advisor
• Maintain safe working place by using safe work practices.
• Other duties as directed by supervisor or designate.

Qualifications:
• Minimum Level 2 or 3 welder or fabricator apprentice, journeyperson preferred
• Ability to work alone or in a team setting.
• Ability to take on multiple projects at one time
• Well organized and possess great attention to detail to produce high quality work in a fast. paced environment, while ensuring proper safety standards are met.

Project Manager 

KWS Keys Welding Service Ltd. has an exciting opportunity for a Project Manager located at our facility in the North Corman Industrial Park. The individual we are seeking will have the exceptional ability to manage multiple projects from estimation to completion. They will be able to coordinate professionally between customers and our team to ensure exemplary customer service.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Provide overall project management for multiple projects.
  • Oversee multiple projects from bid to completion.
  • Ability to quote several bids and projects simultaneously.
  • Prepare tender documents.
  • Control budgets
  • Identify and resolve conflicts and create contingency plans to mitigate risk.
  • Review and comment on internal shop drawings.
  • Manage contractor site meetings, RFIs, and control change orders.
  • Work in collaboration with customer to project completion.
  • Monitor in conjunction with manager, shop foreman and site foreman, a project’s material and labor costs for efficiency and optimal customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain positive working relationships.

Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in project planning and estimating supply and installation of
    structural and miscellaneous steel projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel and AutoCAD
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural and structural drawings and specifications.
  • Expert knowledge of fabrication practices
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid Driver’s License/ability to attend job site meetings.

PiperFitter

STC Industrial Contracting has an exciting opportunity for Pipefitter Journeypersons for work on various industrial projects throughout Saskatchewan.

Primary responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Ability to measure & fit piping systems as per customer specs
  • Ability to conduct hydrotesting and/or pneumatic testing
  • Have a working knowledge of the T-SASK & other relevant regulatory codes
  • The ability to work with groups or alone & to mentor new apprentices at all work sites
  • The safe use of all equipment & tools that are required on site & the ability to show others the safe use of those tools
  • Demolition of existing piping systems, vessels & similar systems
  • Knowledge of the proper standards pertaining to ANSI bolt up procedures & codes
  • The ability to work with heavy loads – must be able to lift up to 50 Lbs
  • Operate company equipment
  • Working at heights
  • The ability to work in confined spaces is an asset
  • Ensuring safe work practices, HSE processes, and OH&S compliance are followed on site

Desired Skills and Experience:

  • Journeyperson Pipefitter
  • Experience on major industrial project sites
  • A positive attitude towards safety is expected and imperative
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license
  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • Strong leadership and organization skills

Electrician

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Journeyperson Electrician to join our team, working on various projects across the province of Saskatchewan. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and codes.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Maintenance and Repair
  • Install and repair wiring, electrical fixtures, power equipment, and components of equipment following electrical code, manuals, specifications, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Install and repair control and distribution apparatus, including motors, relays, switches, thermostats
  • Diagnose and resolve problems in electrical circuits, systems, and equipment using testing instruments and equipment.
  • Test continuity of circuits to ensure compatibility and safety of components using testing instruments.
  • Maintain accurate records on material and labor used.
  • Maintain inventory and condition of tools, equipment, and materials.
  • Inspect jobs upon completion and ensure areas are clean.
  • Work with clients to complete projects.
  • Detect needed repairs on buildings, grounds, and equipment following established inspection procedures.
  • Respond to emergency calls as needed.

Safety:

  • Perform preventive maintenance on tools and equipment.
  • Operate tools and equipment according to established safety procedures.
  • Ensure that the equipment is in safe operating condition.
  • Follow established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties, including lifting, climbing, etc.
  • Correct unsafe conditions in work area and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor immediately.
  • Other duties as directed by supervisor or designate.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Valid Journeyperson Electricians license
  • Required commercial / residential experience
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of electrical circuits and wiring
  • Knowledge of local electrical codes
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and written reference material
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve problems
  • Ability to use hand and power tools

Work Conditions:

  • Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors (working outside in all seasons)
  • Continual walking, standing, climbing, stooping, bending, kneeling, reaching, and heavy lifting and carrying.
  • Work in tiring and uncomfortable positions, around electrical power lines, outside and inside.
  • Frequent province-wide travel.

Preferred:

  • Experience working with Indigenous communities.
  • Strong understanding of provincial electrical regulations and standards.
